Default Fevered Dreams

I was playing around with Fevered Dreams on my mesmer and it works pretty well, I had the idea of making a paragon equivalent to see how that would work out. any thoughts on how to improve this?

usage: 1-2-3-4-6-7, rinse and repeat. energy could be tight.
causes weakness, bleeding, dazed, crippled, cracked armor and deep wound to all nearby foes.

With the sheer amount of energy this needs, you won't be rinsing and repeating much, methinks. I don't think you'll be able to spam anthem of weakness and go for the eyes enough to make up for the energy consumption.

The idea is not bad, I think, but maybe you should put Fevered Dreams and Fragility on a hero while you try to inflict as many conditions as you can.

Also, you should decrease spear mastery by 2, otherwise it would be impossible to run that attribute set-up.

You simply won't have the energy.
GFTE won't give you enough energy to keep up with 3 10 energy skills (AoW covers its own cost with no profit and you'll only return 5 from GFTE).

I'm not sure how I would even begin to make it work.

You are better with an Me/E Extend Conditions build using low spec steam and glyph of immolation. Even on a hero, they will keep passing around those conditions, while you are free to pass cripple(You move like a dwarf or something close) and other things, while nuking away with whatever you please. Energy will kill you with the current setup.

Since it's PvE, you might as well take Technobabble. You'll still be able to condi-spam with Extend Condi or Epidemic.

It is tight, that's for sure. I already run this sort of thing on a primary mesmer and it works great, actually i ran it on my mesmer last night doing Warband and Assault hardmode and I have never seen charr mobs die so fast. Energy was a problem though, even for the mesmer. I thought that GFTE + leadership would take care of things but it's not enough to spam these skills continuously.

Yes energy is a huge issue. It's annoying especially since GtfE normally solves all your energy issues but not in this case.

hmmmm yeah... someone suggested extend conditions, that could work better for the paragon than Fevered Dreams. Lower cost, faster cast, faster recharge and no chance of removal. Plus it's in an attribute line that has energy management should we need it. check this out:


P/Me

cost is 5 (shrinking armor) + 5 drain delusions + 5 (deft strike) + 5 (chest thumper) + 5 (extend conditions), but drain delusions will return 16 energy so we only have an energy deficit of 9. we can regain that pretty quickly. I'm wondering if it is worth it to carry aggressive refrain at all, probably not. we are spending a lot more time casting than throwing spears.

weakness + cracked armor + bleeding + disease + deep wound, and all of that lasts 68% longer. We don't have dazed though and I think that is what made fevered dreams so effective against the charr. :-\
It might be worth it to replace Extend Conditions with Stunning Strike and just bring Epidemic to spread the conditions.

It's actually taking me a little longer than 15 seconds for the entire chain. Then again many hm creatures go pop before you can finish the chain.

the attributes are slightly off in my previous posts, i apologize for that.
the split should be 11,9,8,8.

Here's one I tested out, it works well and energy is not a problem at all. It doesn't use Extend Conditions because I wanted to use the elite for Stunning Strike to get Dazed. It does 40-50 dps from the spear aside from the condition spam.

P/Me
spear 12+1+1
leadership 9+1
command 9+1

go for the eyes
anthem of weariness
spear of fury
stunning strike
merciless spear
blazing spear
epidemic
aggressive refrain

does weakness, dazed, deep wound, and burning. spear of fury is used to get 7 adrenaline instantly which charged up the whole chain except for stunning strike which needs a few extra hits. Energy cost is 5 for spear of fury and 5 for epidemic and that's it, you can repeat the chain as often as you like. since the whole chain is very low energy cost we may even consider dropping Go For The Eyes in favor of another condition or pve skill.
If you use a spear with +33% dazed you can get 13.33 seconds of dazed with each application of stunning strike and spread this with epidemic. You can re-apply it every 10 seconds so this means perma-dazed for target and all adjacent.
